HP Virtual Rooms Client 7.0.3 – Build 3100 Information

On September 5, 2009 HPES released a patch for HP Virtual Rooms. This latest version is referred to as HP Virtual Rooms 7.0.3 – Build 3100. Contained in this version is a change for multimedia users. Presenters will have control over granting participants video capabilities by promoting them to presenters. This is a non-forced update so users must select to upgrade or be new users. All other changes listed for HP Virtual Rooms 7.0.1 – Build 2722 remains the same.

HP Virtual Rooms Client 7.0.1 – Build 2722 Information

On February 21, 2009, HPES released a HP Virtual Rooms Client (7.0.1 - Build 2722), and ActiveX version .33. This new release will also invoke the Microsoft ‘kill bit’ to disable all previous HP Virtual Rooms’ ActiveX versions (versions less than .33). All users are required to have the new HP Virtual Rooms client and the new ActiveX version .33 – on/after February 21, 2009, to use HP Virtual Rooms.

HP Virtual Rooms 7.0.1 GUI client has not changed substantially since our 7.0 release in January 2008. We have added numerous minor enhancements and code corrections / bug fixes since January 2008, as detailed below.

Enhancements

  • Presenters can remove a bookmark (toggle on / off)
  • Any text annotations that are open will be submitted to the whiteboard when presenter selects another annotation tool or changes pages
  • Timers changed to auto start by default
  • Sharing control panel can be minimized
  • Two options in System Tray, "Run HPVR Tray when Window starts" and "HPVR Tray stays on top", were not staying checked when users entered checkmarks

Code corrections / bug fixes

  • Time zones updated for regions that changed from 2007 settings
  • Dual monitor users who switch from dual to single monitor while Room Chat or HP Virtual Rooms System Tray is located on secondary monitor will still have Room Chat or HP Virtual Rooms System Tray when in single monitor mode
  • People panel automatically adds scroll bars when additional users enter the room
  • Keyboard mapping issues are corrected when application sharing with various languages
  • Users who have accent characters / diacritical mark in their HP Virtual Rooms installation path will install without errors
  • Correct an application sharing bug that caused users to see obscured window when sharing certain applications
  • Promoting a participant to presenter did not show for users who entered the room after the promotion was done
  • Handouts, if presenter has enabled "Allow Participants Access" to handouts, participants can re-open the Handouts window by going to the View Menu and selecting Handouts. If Allow Participants Access is not enabled the participants will see Handouts as grayed out
  • Set the focus on the name of new objects when presenter creates them
  • Application Sharing Control window will close when user’s connection is lost
  • Default font for room objects such as timers is changing from Helvetica to MS San Serif which is available on Windows, Macintosh, and Linux machines
  • Hand raise and lower issues (users arriving after the fact) resolved
  • Audience detail and hand up list issues fixed in Presentation (template) rooms
  • For authenticating proxies - can now add user name and password
  • MS Vista drag/drop content onto whiteboard issue resolved
  • Windows 2000 was not able to install correctly
  • Macintosh Power PC platform was not able to install correctly
